This year we offer a selection of a cappella favorites and unique Christmas carols from the early music repertoire and contemporary composers, thoughtfully selected by Artistic Director, Andrew Lewis. December begins with waiting and anticipation. The expectation of Christmas, just a few weeks away. This year’s Christmas concert – and Christopher Windle’s first as Artistic & Music Director – revels in the waiting and watching. 

The concert pays homage to the Chorale’s founder William Ferris with a beautiful Renaissance motet early in the program, gives way to music about the beauty of space, stillness, and wonder, and concludes with several 21st-century carols.

Composers include Kerry Andrew, Vicente Lusitano, Hannah Kendall, Eriks Esenvalds, Cecilia McDowall, Richard Causton, Roderick Williams, and Melissa Dunphy.

To celebrate the release of his new album, A Closer Look Reveals, composer and pianist Michael R. Oldham invites special guests in this performance of his original music against a backdrop of projected visuals that his aunt says is "really quite something."
